Official Records Contacts

This private reference site is not a government office. It cannot verify someone’s custody, arrange a release or bond, or obtain an official booking record. Those questions must go to the responsible public office.

Find the Right Office

For a Missaukee County jail or booking question, start with the Missaukee County Sheriff’s Office rather than a private roster page. The sheriff’s physical address is 110 S Pine St, Lake City, MI 49651, with mailing address PO Box 800, Lake City, MI 49651. Main telephone is (231) 839-4338. Select extension 2 for corrections and extension 3 for Records/Civil Process. Dispatch uses extension 1. The official FOIA page lists Records Department hours as Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., excluding holidays, plus fax (231) 839-4344 and s.helsel@missaukeesheriff.net for requests.

Use the Sheriff FOIA and Reports page for the request form and delivery details. A current-custody caller should use the corrections route, while a person seeking a historical booking or incident record should use Records/Civil Process. The county does not promise that staff can disclose every status or record to every caller.

  • For booking records or a releasable photograph, follow the focused request process on the home records page.
  • For a public court outcome, search the 84th District or 28th Circuit MiCOURT sources identified in the county guide.
  • For a possible warrant, use the official court or sheriff route described on Sheriff's Most Wanted; do not rely on a private listing.
  • For an MDOC prisoner, parolee, or probationer within the state system, use MDOC OTIS.
  • For federal custody, use the Bureau of Prisons locator; immigration detention uses the separate ICE locator.

In an emergency, call 911. For non-emergency local routing, use the sheriff’s official dispatch contact. An arrest record is an accusation-related record, and a court disposition is the appropriate source for an outcome.
